Heart Coach
Provided by a team of New Zealand registered cardiac nurses from Teladoc Health (This service is beneficial for most people aged 40 and over. You need to be located in New Zealand)
As you get older, lifestyle choices become even more important, especially if you have risk factors such as family history or other health conditions. For heart health specifically, approaching the age of 40 is a stage where your risk increases even further.
Our Heart Coach service is designed to empower you to better manage your heart health. A ‘heart-healthy’ lifestyle includes:
- Regular physical activity
- Balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
- Stress management
- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Not smoking
Request the service to be guided through a comprehensive risk assessment to determine your eligibility. Following the assessment and if eligible, you will have an intake session with a specialised cardiac nurse from Teladoc Health, who will guide you through a personalised care plan. The cardiac nurse will also discuss the requirement for you to undergo a heart health check with your own GP to establish baseline measurements, including vital statistics such as blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and body mass index (BMI). Please note, the visit to your GP will be at your own cost.
This is not an emergency service and requests will be processed Monday to Friday 10am – 7pm NZT. If you require urgent medical assistance, contact your local emergency services (111 in NZ).
